Ministry - Rock of Ages

John Vincent - Latest Letter:

Dear Friends,

Summer has gone by so quickly. The Lord has blessed the services at the Juvenile Detention Center. We have had 18 teens trust the Lord as their Savior. One week we had 4 pray to be Saved! The next week after services one young man came up and asked, "Can I still get Saved?" He was uncertain the week before and was worried that he had missed the opportunity to get saved. Praise the Lord, he prayed right there and ask the Lord to Save Him. We are starting discipleship with the teens. Pray they will grow in the Lord.

Not only were most of the Bibles in the Detention Center library not KJV they were also very worn and starting to fall apart. I ask for permission to replace their Bible with New Rock of Ages Study Bibles. The teens are now asking for their own Study Bible. When we started having services none of the teens knew any Hymns, not even Amazing Grace. I also picked up some small songbooks (that we have at ROA) and gave them to the Detention Center Library. They were so excited to learn a new hymn, Down at the Cross. Keep praying as we see these teens grow in the Lord.

We had a great Vacation Bible School with our home church in June. We saw two young people trust the Lord as their Savior. Alecia and I then took 10 teens and our college interns up to Delta, CO. Our church helped plant Delta Valley Baptist church two years ago and this was their first VBS. We had a wonderful time watching the teens become excited while serving the Lord. We also got to take the teens to Teen Camp. The Lord worked in hearts, and we witnessed many decisions including 2 teens surrendering to God's will in their lives. The following week we had our annual Holy Youth Conference. The Lord worked in many hearts, with many teens making decisions.

Pray for us as we take Kaylynn to Bible College this week. She will be attending Heartland Baptist Bible College. We are excited to see her take the next step in serving the Lord. Rebekah was able to come home for the month of June. We had a great time serving the Lord as a family again She helped us with the 2 VBS's and helped in the Church. She is back in Florida and will be teaching in a Christian school. Please pray for Nannette as she adjusts to not having her sisters at home.

We thank you for your faithful prayers and support. We greatly appreciate all that you do for us.

Your Servants in Christ,

John & Alecia Vincent
