A few weeks ago, I was teaching at the detention center. The lesson I taught that day was "What Money Can't Buy". We went through a list of things that "Money Can't Buy". The one that hit home the most in every class was "Money can't buy Love". What these teens crave the most is Love. I am happy to tell you that most of these teens have made a profession of faith during our weekly Thursday night Church services! When a new Juvenile comes into our service, it usually is a first for him or her to hear a hymn, open a Bible, or to hear of a God that LOVES them. Each week we try to teach a hymn to the juveniles. It is great to see them working to learn the Bible truths that are found in that hymn. After the preaching, we are able to talk with them for a few minutes before they need to return to their Pod. We are starting to see some spiritual growth in a few of them. Pray for one young man, we have been teaching. He was just sentenced to the State Juvenile Prison until he turns 21. Pray he will continue to grow in the Lord.
Once a month, I have been preaching in a Bible club in one of our local High Schools. In January, they asked me to come more often. About a month ago, one of our church teens invited a young lady, from the Bible Club, to come to our church. Praise the Lord, that night she came and has been attending faithfully. She has since trusted the Lord as her Saviour! My wife is meeting with her once a week for Discipleship. She has asked us to pray for her family, that they also will be saved.
Would you also pray with us for Nannette. She was able to get a speech tablet last year and has had some zoom calls with a speech therapist from the Children's Hospital in Denver. Due to a shortage of speech therapists in the Farmington area, she has been on a waiting list for almost 2 years. We are looking to see if we can find her a speech therapist in Durango, Colorado about an hour from our house.
