Dear Friends,
Prayer serves as the Christian's antidote to the pressures of the world. I have often heard that missionaries engage on the front lines in the battle against the world, the flesh, and the devil. Yes, it's true that missionaries influence many people around the globe, but every Christian should recognize that through prayer and financial support, they are also on the front lines alongside the missionary.
Good Friday is highly observed in Uganda, and every year the members of Faith Baptist Church eagerly anticipate the Good Friday fellowship. Food, fun, fellowship, and testimonies of God's goodness fill the time together.
Church construction continues to move ahead. The walls, floors, windows, railings, electrical, and plumbing are nearing completion. God continues to provide for construction needs through His people both in Uganda and around the world.
Dan Dwire and I, along with our families, were all out of the country for a few weeks at the same time for the first time since the church began. We praise the Lord for the many church members who continued to serve in various capacities, ensuring that things went smoothly in our absence.
The lord graciously gave us strength to balance church responsibilities with packing up and moving out of our rental house, obtaining needed travel documents, and finalizing things as we headed back to the States for furlough.
Eliana finished her junior year of college; Elijah completed his first full year in the States; and Elexis graduated high school. We were overjoyed to have all the family back together again for a short time before the children branched off to their summer activities.
Thank you for all the prayers lifted to God for our travels to the States. Our luggage arrived safely, Midnight traveled well, and there were no issues with his paperwork or entry into the United States.
Since arriving in the States, I have completed my oral defense, graduated with my Doctorate of Ministry, taken part in a missions conference at our sending church, taken Elysse to Shriners in St. Louis to have her leg braces repaired and discuss a potential future leg-lengthening surgery, and dropped Elexis off at Southland Christian Camp for a summer ministry. Elexis is excited to be working alongside Eliana (counselor) and Elijah (operational staff) this summer. Kristy and I are excited to see our children serving the Lord.
